From Here to There

Perhaps the journey across the country is only the beginning. Looking back after six months in a new place, I’m not interested in returning to the past. Though I knew it would follow all the same since we all carry memories but sometimes they haunt longer than they should. Sometimes a location may not remove what you carry but it can give you the space you need to confront and bury what no longer serves you.

My past is nothing. It’s my present that concerns me and the possibilities it holds for the future. We’ve gone so long living in our heads that it’s no wonder we are only waking up now to reality. I’m not impressed by the lineage of humanity nor our legacy upon this planet. I wonder more that we’ve come so far with still so much room to improve. Yet it’s exciting to be here on the cusp of a changing of hands. Perhaps no one can see it or feel it but I know that the only way we have now to go is inward within ourselves and to finally acknowledge the intelligence of our home. This planet is not ours but shared with all that seeks to survive and thrive here in this corner of the universe.

Our purpose has never been to settle but to experience this grand life.
